‘Musicircus – 1840’ (Cage 2002: 90/10)
‘Cage 2002: 90/10’ is a one day event to discuss, perform and listen to John Cage's music, with the further aim of marking Cage's 90th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his death. “Cage organised the first ‘Musicircus’ in 1967. There is no published score and the main idea was that Cage invited musicians, ensembles and (to a lesser extent) visual artists to participate in a performance in a big hall. Cage only organised the ‘utilities’ and let individuals use their given space in whichever way it pleased them.”
